Scientists and engineers who believe education should reach everyone
Lumora Community Network was founded in 2026 by three researchers and technologists who saw the same gap everywhere: powerful new tools in STEM, AI, and health, but the people who needed them most had no one to teach them.
Education and outreach that lifts communities
Lumora Community Network is a Minnesota charitable organization whose primary goals are educational and community outreach in STEM, IT, and technology. We prepare and deliver educational materials and in-person community-center engagements on topics ranging from vaccines and public health, to practical AI navigation for everyday life, to hands-on training of under-represented and vulnerable groups.
Our founders spent years in research laboratories and software engineering, publishing peer-reviewed science, building clinical AI tools, and mentoring students at every level. They started Lumora to bring that same expertise out of the lab and into community centers, senior programs, and re-entry services where it can do the most good.
We are 100% volunteer-run. Every dollar we raise goes directly toward workshop materials, community partnerships, and program delivery, not overhead.
Mission, vision & values
Mission
To deliver accessible STEM, technology, and health literacy education to underserved communities across Minnesota's East Metro, through in-person workshops, durable learning materials, and partnerships with community centers.
Vision
A region where every person, regardless of age, background, or circumstance, has the knowledge and confidence to navigate technology, AI tools, and the digital world safely and independently.
Values
Accessibility first. Evidence-based content. Patient, respectful teaching. Community partnership over top-down programming. And the belief that when one person learns, the whole network grows stronger, together.
Rooted in Minnesota's East Metro
Our founding team has deep ties to Ramsey County and the broader East Metro. We deliver programs across Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties, meeting people in the community spaces they already trust.
Community Centers
We partner with local community centers, not universities or corporate campuses, so workshops are accessible by bus, familiar to residents, and free of intimidation.
Intentional Reach
Our programs target seniors, recently incarcerated adults, youth, and other underserved groups, including BIPOC communities, veterans, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Three-County Focus
We concentrate resources in Dakota, Ramsey, and Washington counties to build depth of impact rather than spreading too thin across the state.
