What We Offer

Programs designed for real people, in real community spaces

Every Lumora program follows the same philosophy: start with a small pilot group, refine the content, record materials for reuse, and scale up once the format works. No jargon. No assumptions. Just practical skills taught with patience.

AI & Technology

AI Navigation Workshops

AI tools can help people find information, compare options, and get things done, or they can mislead depending on how they are used. Our workshops teach seniors and underserved adults how to navigate AI safely for everyday life: health questions, job searches, benefits, education, and more.

Who it's for: Seniors, underserved adults, and community members who want practical guidance, not a lecture from a tech company.

What you'll learn: How to evaluate information online, use AI tools responsibly, find vetted community resources, protect your privacy, and know when to verify with a trusted person or professional.

Format: In-person workshops at community centers. Pilot cohorts of 5–15, scaling to 30–50 participants. Video tutorials and handouts provided for take-home reference.

Workforce & Reentry

Second Chances in Tech

Recently incarcerated adults face a digital divide that makes re-entry harder every year. Jobs, housing applications, health portals, and banking all require technology skills that many re-entering individuals were never taught, or that changed while they were away.

Who it's for: Recently incarcerated adults in re-entry programs and community support services across the East Metro.

What you'll learn: Essential digital literacy (email, online applications, video calls), introduction to AI tools for job searching and resume building, online safety and privacy basics, and practical skills for today's workforce.

Format: Multi-session workshop series at partner community sites. Patient pacing, hands-on practice, no prior experience required. Materials designed for reuse across cohorts.

Digital Skills for Seniors

Technology moved fast, and many seniors were left behind not because they cannot learn, but because no one took the time to teach them in a way that made sense. Our senior-focused workshops cover everyday technology with large text, slow pacing, and plenty of hands-on practice.

Topics include: Smartphones and tablets, email and messaging, video calls with family, online safety and scam awareness, accessing health portals, and using AI assistants for everyday questions.

Format: Single-session and multi-session workshops at senior centers and community sites. Printed quick-reference guides included.

Youth & Education

Youth STEM & AI Literacy

Children and teenagers are growing up in a world where AI can write their essays, solve their homework, and answer any question instantly. Our youth programs teach responsible AI use: how to use these tools to learn and work smarter, without letting them do your thinking for you.

Programs include: Hands-on children's science workshops (led by a PhD research scientist with experience creating youth STEM programming), AI literacy sessions for secondary students, and public science literacy events on topics like vaccines and public health.

Format: After-school workshops, community center events, and summer programs. Age-appropriate content with mandatory reporter-trained facilitators for child-facing sessions.

Every program starts with listening

We do not walk into a community center with a fixed curriculum and leave. We talk to staff, learn what residents need, pilot with a small group, and adapt. That is how we make sure our workshops actually help the people they are designed for.
